You view the world thru your own “lenses.” Here are six things to think about that will help you focus your study of happiness. Write these down somewhere so you can refer to them later on.

1. Happiness: “I feel totally alive when...” “For me the ingredients for lasting happiness are...”

2. Obstacles: “I always get stressed out by...” “I got a glimpse of my true strength when I was faced with...”

3. Self-reflection: “Other people think I am...” “What other people don't know about me is...”

4. Self-discipline: “When I’m caught in a whirlwind of emotions, I usually (do)...” “When I'm caught...I usually (feel)...” “I feel empowered when I choose to...”

5. Interdependence: “The ‘gift’ I was born with is...” “I see that everything is connected when...”

6. Compassion: "I define 'compassion' as..." "When I show compassion toward someone I feel..." "When someone acts compassionately toward me..."
