Dominion Heritage Academy, located in Jos, Nigeria, was established eight years ago by a renowned educator and lecturer with the University of Jos. Jos, the capital of the Plateau State, is also home to UNESCO.
Dominion Heritage Academy is one of the many private schools granted approval by the Plateau State Ministry of Education to provide educational opportunities to young people in the state and neighboring communities. Students study Mathematics, English Language, Agricultural Science, Computer Science, Business Studies, Social Studies, French Language, Integrated Science, Technology, and Nigerian Languages, among others.
Currently, close to 200 students are involved in The Dalai Lama Foundation’s Study Circle Initiative. Led by Emmanuel Ivorgba, principal of the school, students meet twice every month to study His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s internationally acclaimed book, Ethics for the New Millennium, discuss and make new decisions related to issues such as universal responsibility, patience, love, humility, concern for others and peace. The program has been extended to 15 cities.
