Share your video with Project Happiness
Blip.TV - Here's what you need to know...
Step #1: You can add BLIP.TV video to your account whether you have a BLIP.TV account or not. If you plan to create and upload your own video, then set up an account at Blip.TV now. It's free. Upload any video that you'd like to share. Be sure to include any of your own video that you want to add to your portfolio - it has to be on BLIP before you can add it to your portfolio.
Be sure you are already logged-in at ProjectHappiness.com. This will save you a lot of time. Go to MY ACCOUNT and then My Portfolio. It doesn't matter whether you already have media in your portfolio or not. |
 Step #2: Now, in a second browser window, looking at BLIP.TV, find the individual video episode that you want to add to your portfolio. You must be on the page showing only the single episode you want to use. BLIP has others modes, including one in which you can view a "show" containing all your videos in a single player (see the screen shot)- this player cannot be added to your portfolio! If you see the "show page" player, click Episode Archive to go locate the single episode you want to use. |
 Click to get the video into the player - just the one video (see screen shot). You can let the video play if you want to review it, but you don't have to. Find the word SHARE in the controls or find the "share" icon -  . Click SHARE or the icon. |
 A set of tabs will appear in front of the video. Find the EMBED tab. When you click EMBED, you'll see a panel and a button labeled COPY EMBED CODE. And, of course that's what you want, so you'll click that button. All that code (<OBJECT...etc.) will be copied into the clipboard on your computer. Do not make any changes to this code, because our web server needs all of it in order to figure out how to embed the video within Project Happiness. |
 Step #3: Now, this is the important and final step! Go back to the window containing your portfolio at ProjectHappiness.com (you should still be logged in) and click the Add video icon. |
 You'll see a panel where you can add a Title, the Embed Code (which you still have in the clipboard) and a Comment. Paste the embed code into a new portfolio item. (We've drawn a red outline around the EMBED box.) Everything will look slightly different depending on the browser you're using. |
 This is what the panel will look like (approximately) after you've pasted the EMBED code, and before you've added a Title and Comment (they're optional). If you don't add a Title, the title from the BLIP.TV episode will automatically be added when you click Add this video.

At this point the video is available to you in your portfolio, and to your friends within your class/school. [We'll provide additional instructions later this year on how to share your portfolio items with the world.]
